Pickleball, a combination of tennis, badminton, and ping pong, is one of the fastest growing sports in the country. MCPRD offers open play at the Morehead City Recreation Center gymnasium. All Pickleball players must have an annual usage pass or pay a $5.oo daily pass fee.
Philosophy: The camp will offer an exciting soccer experience with an emphasis on fun, skill development, tactics and competition. Concentration will be placed on establishing basic skills such as shooting, trapping, dribbling and building upon these skills through staff demonstration and instruction. The camp will emphasize technique tactics in an intense training environment. The camp will be divided to age and skill level, so the content of the camp as well as the intensity will be structured to meet the varying needs of the different participants. Camp Staff: Sean Brennan – Former Associate Head coach at the University of North Carolina Pembroke, now the Head Coach at the University of Mount Olive. The camp will also have high school coaches as well as college and high school players. Equipment: All participants should wear comfortable clothing for soccer, must wear shin guards, and bring a soccer ball and a water bottle. Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department offers a beginner tennis camp sessions beginning in June. The camp will offer an exciting tennis experience with an emphasis on fun. Concentration will be placed on establishing basic skill development, focus on eye-hand coordination, fundamentals of all the basic strokes and etiquette of the game of tennis. There will be tennis racquets available for participants to use. All participants should wear comfortable clothing, tennis shoes and bring water, sunscreen and a hat. The first session will begin Monday, June 24 – Wednesday, June 26 with a registration deadline of Friday, June 21st. The second session begins Monday, July 29 – Wednesday, July 31st with a registration deadline of Friday, July 26. Philosophy: Junior Golf League is aimed to provide quality education, skill development and great fun at age appropriate competition for boys and girls ages 10-18. Age Groups: Boys: 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-18 and Girls: 10-11, 12-13, 14-18 Cost: $60 covers all green fees for practice and matches plus team golf shirt. The Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department, Carteret County Parks and Recreation Department and Emerald Isle Parks and Recreation Department sponsor a Girls Youth Volleyball League for girls ages 9-14. Registration begins July 13th and runs through September 1st. Practice begins September 4th and games begin September 24th.
Volunteer coaches are needed.
Fees for the program are $35.00 per child.

This youth league is co-sponsored by the Carteret County and Morehead City Parks and Recreation Departments. Teams will practice at the Morehead City Recreation Center or Morehead City Middle School. Games will be played at these gyms and other county gym facilities.
