Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department is now offering recreational, open play corn-hole.  Corn-hole will take place on Wednesday evenings beginning March 28th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department (1600 Fisher Street, Morehead City, NC, 28557). BARRE FITNESS

BARRE FITNESS

There will be NO BARRE CLASS IN MAY.  Classes will resume June 12th-14th.  The Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department will now be offering a fitness class called Barre Fit. This program is offered Tuesdays at 5:30 PM as well as Thursdays at 10:00AM and 5:30 PM. The program costs $20 for 4 classes a month (one class per week).  If you don’t wish to sign up for the program, you can pay a $10 daily drop-in fee. Class-goers need to bring water, yoga mat or towel is optional. This class is a hybrid of Yoga, Pilates, and Ballet Flexibility and will consist of stretching/strengthening of all major muscle groups, creating lean and long muscles without bulk, and strengthening abdominal and back muscles improving balance and back pain. Natural Side of Fort Macon @ Fort Macon Visitors Center

Meet at the Visitors Center lobby for a leisurely hike exploring the natural side of Fort Macon.  The hike will cover both the walking trail and the beach.

International Film Series – My Afternoons with Margueritte – France | 7:30pm – 9:30pm
Join us for a wonderful catered dinner and inspired by the featured movie’s country. After dinner stroll over to Joslyn Hall for popcorn and the movie! Doors open at 5:30pm; Dinner is from 6:00pm to 7:00pm; Movie starts at 7:30pm. This is an annual event that occurs once a month during January, February and March that includes dinner with each movie one night.  The series includes three movies, one per month January – March.  Menu for each dinner will reflect the country in which the movie is from. Maks, reflectors, refractors, Newtonians, Dobsonians, equatorials, astrographs, Cassegrains, CCDs, CMOS, DSLR, LRGB, monochrome, PHEW!!! It’s a lot of information to take in and can get confusing. Do you have a telescope and aren’t quite sure how to use it? Do you have questions about how to improve your astrophotography? Do you just have questions about telescopes, other equipment, or astronomy in general? Come to our workshop! If you’re having difficulty choosing equipment or getting something you already own setup, our club members be there to answer your questions as best we can. If you just have a general interest or are curious, some of our members will have their own gear setup and will be happy to discuss it with you and answer your questions. This event is free and open to the public. There are no tickets or registration required. The event itself will be held in the auditorium of the Fort Macon Educational Center. Community Yoga @ MHC Parks and Rec
