Cathy Campbell joined the Town of Morehead City on February 6, 2017 after having served as the Deputy Clerk for the City of Havelock. Cathy was very active in the Havelock community having served as a D.A.R.E. Event Coordinator and Havelock Chili Festival Entertainment Coordinator; however, she never broke the ties with her hometown, Morehead City. She is a long-time member of Glad Tidings Church, where she volunteers in children’s ministry and for Family Promise of Carteret County.
As City Clerk, Cathy performs all duties required by the City Charter, State Law and Ordinances; acts as secretary to the Mayor, City Council and City Manager; maintains City records and proceedings of all Council meetings/workshops; prepares Council agendas, minutes, ordinances, resolutions, proclamations, public notices, and records; and coordinates the codification, indexing, microfilming, and changes to the Morehead City Code of Ordinances. The City Clerk acts as the central source of information and is the liaison between the Council and the public.
