Bring a folding chair and enjoy an hour long concert by local bands and artists inside historic Fort Macon. All concerts are free although donations are most welcomed. Doors open early for picnickers and all who want to take in the beautiful setting. Just in case it rains the concerts will be held inside the Education Center at the Fort.

We kick off our Kayak for the Warrior activities by hosting a 5K Beach Run and 1K Fun Run/Walk. Runners will begin at the The Inn at Pine Knoll Shores, run down the beach, across Rt. 58 and through Beacon’s Reach and then return to the beach. The Fun Walk/Run will head down the beach
towards Indian Beach and return on the same route.
Come down to Fort Macon and learn how different Civil War era cannons were loaded, aimed, and fired. Cannon demonstrations will be at 10:30, 11:30, 1:30, 2:30, & 3:30. For more details, 252-726-3775 or www.ncparks.gov/fort-macon-state-park.
Participants will have the opportunity to visit labs and holding areas, as well as help with food preparations and feed the animals in this thorough behind-the-scenes tour.
