Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department is now offering recreational, open play corn-hole.  Corn-hole will take place on Wednesday evenings beginning March 28th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department (1600 Fisher Street, Morehead City, NC, 28557). BARRE FITNESS

There will be NO BARRE CLASS IN MAY.  Classes will resume June 12th-14th.  The Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department will now be offering a fitness class called Barre Fit. This program is offered Tuesdays at 5:30 PM as well as Thursdays at 10:00AM and 5:30 PM. The program costs $20 for 4 classes a month (one class per week).  If you don’t wish to sign up for the program, you can pay a $10 daily drop-in fee. Class-goers need to bring water, yoga mat or towel is optional. This class is a hybrid of Yoga, Pilates, and Ballet Flexibility and will consist of stretching/strengthening of all major muscle groups, creating lean and long muscles without bulk, and strengthening abdominal and back muscles improving balance and back pain. Free legal clinic to assist residents with FEMA appeals @ Carteret Community College

There will be a free legal clinic to assist residents with FEMA appeals in Morehead City on Saturday, February 23 at Carteret Community College, 3505 Arendell Street. The morning session will run from 9:30-12:00 p.m. and the afternoon session will run from 12:30-4:00 p.m. This event is coordinated by the NC Pro Bono Resource Center, a program of the NC Equal Access to Justice Commission, with support from Legal Aid of North Carolina. Hurricane survivors who wish to speak with an attorney must register in advance.

Emerald Isle Garden Club’s Annual Card and Games Party Fundraiser @ Emerald Isle Community Center

Emerald Isle Garden Club’s Annual Card and Games Party Fundraiser will be held Wednesday, February 27th from 1-4 PM at the Emerald Isle Community Center located at 7500 Emerald Drive. Participants will enjoy card games such as Bridge, etc. as well as other board & table games of their choice. Proceeds help to support the club’s many community beautification and service projects which include the new educational kiosk at Emerald Woods Park, the Green Thumbs youth club,  maintaining a rain garden and other plantings at the Community Center, and the upcoming Bikes and Blooms event in May. Tickets are $15.00 which includes entry into the event, a chance at a door prize, light fare buffet, desserts & beverages. Tickets will also be sold at the event for fabulous raffle items and a cash drawing with winners chosen during the afternoon event.
