Have you ever wondered “what do you do with this?” when looking at a new vegetable at a farm stand or community market? This year we are offering cooking classes to share ideas and teach methods of working with fresh local foods. These will be “hands-on” experiences in a small group, nutritional information about the foods and eat what you helped create at the end of class! This first class will teach skills and methods in making soups and stews using what is available in the winter months.

Corn-hole will take place on Wednesday evenings beginning March 28th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department (1600 Fisher Street, Morehead City, NC, 28557). There will be a free legal clinic to assist residents with FEMA appeals in Morehead City on Saturday, February 23 at Carteret Community College, 3505 Arendell Street. The morning session will run from 9:30-12:00 p.m. and the afternoon session will run from 12:30-4:00 p.m. This event is coordinated by the NC Pro Bono Resource Center, a program of the NC Equal Access to Justice Commission, with support from Legal Aid of North Carolina. Hurricane survivors who wish to speak with an attorney must register in advance.
