16th Annual Storytelling Festival @ Crystal Coast Civic Center

16th Annual Storytelling Festival with Science Tellers | 10am & 2pm
We are so pleased to offer you the line-up for our 16th Annual Storytelling Festival. We will again have performances on four Wednesday mornings in July at 10am at the Crystal Coast Civic Center, Morehead City, and also four afternoon shows at 2pm at the Bethlehem Methodist Church, corner of Bogue Loop Rd. and Rt. 24 in Bogue. Science and storytelling were accidentally mixed. Here is what happened. Storytelling and Exciting science experiments come together into an unprecedented theatrical experience. We are generously supported by the Friends of the Bogue Banks Public Library, the Friends of the Carteret County Public Library and the Friends of the Western Carteret Public Library, without which these programs would not be possible. Meet in the fort to watch a 19th century cannon be loaded and fired in the military tradition of the “Evening Gun.” US Coast Guard Base Fort Macon will provide the cannon crew.

Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department is now offering recreational, open play corn-hole.  Corn-hole will take place on Wednesday evenings beginning March 28th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department (1600 Fisher Street, Morehead City, NC, 28557). BARRE FITNESS

BARRE FITNESS

There will be NO BARRE CLASS IN MAY.  Classes will resume June 12th-14th.  The Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department will now be offering a fitness class called Barre Fit. This program is offered Tuesdays at 5:30 PM as well as Thursdays at 10:00AM and 5:30 PM. The program costs $20 for 4 classes a month (one class per week).  If you don’t wish to sign up for the program, you can pay a $10 daily drop-in fee. Class-goers need to bring water, yoga mat or towel is optional. This class is a hybrid of Yoga, Pilates, and Ballet Flexibility and will consist of stretching/strengthening of all major muscle groups, creating lean and long muscles without bulk, and strengthening abdominal and back muscles improving balance and back pain. They are: Tonya Fluellen, Renee Hawthorne, Jean Maloney,  Susan McNamara, Tabbie Nance and  Susan Wilder.
