The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores will host Sea Stars and Stripes @ NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores

On Memorial Day, the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores will host Sea Stars and Stripes as a way to salute active military and their families. The event, held 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday, May 26, is specifically designed for currently serving military who have young children. Join us for an evening after hours for dinner, live animal presentations, and take-home crafts that children of all ages can enjoy.

The event will offer an intimate experience of the Aquarium. Participants will get a personal tour of the habitats with staff available to answer questions about the animals, habitats, and ongoing Aquarium conservation projects. There will be a reptile presentation featuring turtles and snakes, and an encounter with several of our avian ambassadors such as pelicans and owls. After dinner, catered by Village Market in Emerald Isle, the night will end with a craft that will engage younger family members. 

Tickets are $35 per individual and $31.50 for Aquarium members.

There will be NO BARRE CLASS IN MAY.  Classes will resume June 12th-14th.  The Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department will now be offering a fitness class called Barre Fit. This program is offered Tuesdays at 5:30 PM as well as Thursdays at 10:00AM and 5:30 PM. The program costs $20 for 4 classes a month (one class per week).  If you don’t wish to sign up for the program, you can pay a $10 daily drop-in fee. Class-goers need to bring water, yoga mat or towel is optional. This class is a hybrid of Yoga, Pilates, and Ballet Flexibility and will consist of stretching/strengthening of all major muscle groups, creating lean and long muscles without bulk, and strengthening abdominal and back muscles improving balance and back pain.
