The Morehead City Police Department arrested Anastasia Busacco, 30, of Morehead City, for Felony Hit and Run on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, following a fatal accident earlier in the week.
The arrest is the result of an investigation concerning a hit and run collision involving Ms. Busacco’s vehicle with a mobility scooter that occurred on the 2300 block of Bridges Street, early in the morning on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
The crash resulted in the death of Albert Jones, Jr., 79, of Morehead City.
Ms. Busacco is currently confined in the Carteret County Jail under a $75,000 secured bond.
