MCFD Auxiliary donates to Autism Society of NC

The Morehead City Fire-EMS' Auxiliary donated $1,800 to the Autism Society of North Carolina - Crystal Coast Support Group on Thursday, May 11th from the sale of autism acceptance t-shirts and stickers throughout April.

This is the second year the fundraiser took place, thanks to an idea from Shae Worl, a firefighter-EMT within the department.

Lauren Buhrmaster, a support group specialist with the Autism Society of North Carolina, thanked Ms. Worl and the Fire-EMS Department for their work with the fundraiser. "It really helps our mission statement of creating a welcoming and inclusive community of support for individuals with autism and their families," she said.

You can find additional information on their services online at autismsociety-nc.org.
