General Emergency Preparedness

The Town of Morehead City Town Council adopted the Town of Morehead City Hazard Mitigation Plan on December 8, 2009 and certified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on January 27, 2010. The plan provides the blueprint for actions undertaken throughout Morehead City's jurisdiction to reduce losses associated with all types of hazardous events.The plan is required under the federal Disaster Mitigation Act for local governments to be eligible for certain pre- and post-disaster funding.
