A most cordial welcome to Morehead City the gem of the Crystal Coast of North Carolina! Morehead City, the largest town in Carteret County, is located on the coast of North Carolina, enjoys a temperate climate and has ready access to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world!
On behalf of our Council, it is a pleasure to extend to you an invitation to visit us to explore our various museums and historic sites, to shop and dine on the Morehead City Waterfront and to relax and enjoy our many public beach accesses, parks and recreation facilities. We are also home to the Morehead Marlins, a collegiate wooden bat baseball team located at Big Rock Stadium at O’Neal Field and the largest free public fishing pier and boat launching facility in our area. All our citizens enjoy coastal living at its finest every day of the year. We are very proud of Morehead City and all that it has to offer.
One of our best assets is our people! We have many educated, dedicated, concerned and talented individuals willing to give of their time for the betterment of our community. They are the special people who make up our boards and commissions which serve as the life blood of any successful community. It has been said that the success of a community can be directly gauged by the quality and quantity of its volunteers. That being said, Morehead City is alive and well!
