SEASONAL WORKERS

The TOWN OF MOREHEAD CITY is now hiring for SEASONAL workers in the following positions:  Building & Grounds Worker (3), Street Maintenance Worker (2), Solid Waste Operator (1), Parks (1).  High school diploma or GED. NC Driver’s license required.  Background/drug tests required.   Temporary positions without benefits.  Work schedule approximately 40 hours per week; some weekend hours.  $11.30 per hour.  Qualified applicants may apply at the NC Employment Security Commission, 309 Commerce St., Morehead City, NC, or any ESC location.  Closing date: Open Until Filled.  EOE

FIREFIGHTER/EMT-PARAMEDIC

 

The TOWN OF MOREHEAD CITY has a vacancy for a full-time FIREFIGHTER/EMT-PARAMEDIC position.  Duties include responding to emergency calls; suppressing fires; providing basic and advanced life support and emergency medical services; handling hazardous materials; operating and maintaining vehicles and equipment; preparing and maintaining detailed reports.  Position requires knowledge of the principles and techniques of emergency care, automobile extraction, and emergency transportation; fire suppression methods and techniques; proper handling of hazardous materials.  Must possess high school diploma or GED.  Firefighter I & II, EMT-Paramedic, Technical Rescue and HAZMAT certifications required.  Possession of a valid, unrestricted NC driver’s license required.  Background/drug test required. Applicants must be able to obtain NFPA 1582 required physical clearance.  Interested candidates must successfully complete a physical agility test before employment. The next test will be administered June 15, 2017 at 4034 Arendell Street (Fire Station 2) Morehead City NC at 0900 hrs. Candidates that have taken and passed the physical test this calendar year will not be required to re-take the test.
